UOC Oncology 2

Mission

The Oncology 2 Unit provides chemotherapy, immunotherapy and target cancer therapies for patients suffering from breast, lung, thymic, gynecologic, head and neck and skin cancers. Patients are treated following standardized protocols or they may be enrolled in clinical trials.The Unit uses a multidisciplinary approach to guarantee the best possible treatment pathway to each patient. Also, patients are cared for in a shared and continuous manner by the various specialists of the multidisciplinary team. The treatment strategy is established during the first outpatient visit or in specific outpatient clinics, in the collaboration with the other units of the IOV and the Hospital Company-University of Padua.

The Unit integrates clinical and preclinical research in cancer care to optimize treatment for patients who are candidates for innovative drugs and integrated approaches.

The Oncology 2 Unit includes the following Simple Units:

  • UOS Thoracic neoplasms
  • UOS Melanoma oncology
  • UOS Head and neck tumors

The conditions treated in this unit include: cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, mesothelioma, neuroendocrine cancers, ovarian cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, head and neck cancer, and vulvar cancer.
