To schedule an appointment under the NHS

To schedule an appointment for Specialist Outpatient services (first appointment, check-up, outpatient diagnostic tests, chemotherapy/radiotherapy treatment), a referral from the treating physician (primary physician, NHS medical specialist or hospital physician) is required.

In general, at the time of booking, it is not possible to choose the specialist who will perform the service.
For all medical consultations or exams, it is recommended that you bring all the relative health documentation with you.

Oncology and surgical oncology visits

For the first oncology or surgical oncology visit the referral must include:

  • the words “prima visita oncologica/chirurgica oncologica” (“first oncology/surgical oncology visit”) if the patient does not have the “048” exemption (i.e. no exemptions or other exemptions);
  • the words “visita oncologica/chirurgica oncologica controllo” (“oncology/surgical oncology control visit”), specifying “primo contatto” (“first contact”) in the notes, if the patient already has the “048” exemption;
  • A B or D priority should be indicated, whenever possible.

For the oncology or surgical oncology control visits the referral must include:

  • the words “visita oncologica/chirurgica oncologica di controllo” (“oncology/surgical oncology control visit”), the diagnosis and the suggested timing.
    We recommended that you schedule your appointment as soon as possible to avoid unavailability in the time period requested.

To Schedule an Appointment under Private Practice

Access to private practice (paid visits) is self-referral with the specialist of choice. A doctor’s referral is not necessary. Appointments can be requested:

  • by telephone at 049 821 5856, Monday through Friday from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm;
  • In person at the booking counter (CUP) – private practice (libero professione) at Busonera hospital, Monday through Friday from 11:30 to 15:00.

For all medical consultations or exams, it is recommended that you bring all the relative health documentation with you.

Methods of payment

Co-payment for specialist outpatient services (only for non-exempt citizens) and payment in full for private practice services must be made before receiving the services. Payment can be made:

  • using the automatic cash machines located at:
    • the Busonera Hospital (next to the CUP desk on the mezzanine floor or at the entrance of the Breast diagnostic Services Unit on floor -1
    • the Radiotherapy Building
    • the San Giacomo Hospital, Castelfranco Veneto, (on the ground floor, where the ULSS 2 cashiers are also found)
    • the headquarters and the districts of ULSS 6, Ospedale ai Colli, Sant’Antonio Hospital, Hospital of Piove di Sacco, the Hospital of Padua;

  • via internet with a credit card at https://service.sanita.padova.it/PPIPadova/, entering the tax code and the “internet access code” (shown at the top right of the reservation sheet) and following the instructions provided;
  • by bank transfer, IBAN: IT 82 Y 01030 12134 000001100354, however, this payment method does not allow automatic traceability of the information for tax purposes.
    to avoid unpleasant payment reminders or penalties, the following must be reported in the reason for payment:

    • tax code of the person who benefits from the service
    • reservation number (shown at the top left in the reservation sheet)
    • date of execution of the service (example: SRFCHR65P61P089A No. 2016 1163492 dated 06/10/2016).

To collect reports and results

The results of the examinations performed on an outpatient basis can be collected at the CUP of the Busonera Hospital Monday through Friday from 8.00 to 17.30; Saturday from 8.00 to 14.00. Exceptions are the Breast Radiology reports that are delivered directly by the operative unit.
The reports of the services performed in Castelfranco Veneto are delivered to the same place directly by the doctor who performed them. For some types of reports, it is possible to ask for retrieval at the CUP of the Busonera Hospital.

The reports available online can be downloaded from the following address: https://service.sanita.padova.it/RefertiWebTme/Logout.do.

Normally, the patient must collect his/her own report. However, the patient may delegate someone to pick up the report. A duly completed and signed proxy, together with a valid identification document, in its original or copy, of the delegate and the patient, is required. The proxy form is issued at the time of booking, admission or use of outpatient services.
Failure to collect the report within 30 days from the rendered specialist service will lead to a charge for the full cost of the service provided (Article 5 paragraph 8 of Law 407 of December 29, 1990), except for cases of exams that, by their nature, require reporting times beyond the aforementioned 30 days.

Cancellations

In the case you are unable to come to your NHS appointment, and to avoid incurring the penalty required by law (payment of fine, even if exempt), you must cancel your appointment at least 3 days before doctor’s visits and 5 working days before instrumental examinations. Appointments can be cancelled:

  • in person at the specific unit or any CUP;
  • by phone 840 000 664 Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 17:00;
  • online: https://service.sanita.padova.it/DisdetteOnline/;
  • by email: prenotazioni@iov.veneto.it
  • by fax: 049 821 6330 or 049 821 5780, indicating the cancellation request and the reservation number, the type and date of the visit or examination, name surname, date of birth of the patient and the name of the person making the cancellation.

To cancel a private practice visit, leave a voice message at 049 821 5856, following the instructions provided.
